Classical Flute and Piccolo
I am trained as a classical flutist and received my B.Mus degree from the Fontys Conservatory in The Netherlands. The flute has been my primary instrument since age 10. Improving in musical skills every year, I was accepted to the conservatory in the last year of Highschool. Not being able to choose between science and music, I set out to try and combine the two, yielding a double major in Biomedical Engineering and Classical Flute. (It required some creative planning since both schools were in different cities). I have had the pleasure to play in multiple high level orchestra's, and joining them for concert tours around the world, including Germany, Austria, Swiss, Brasil and China. I've played in the Oriental New Art Centre in Shanghai, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and the Sala de Sao Paulo. In Boston I've had the pleasure of performing in Symphony Hall, adding yet another top venue to my list of world famous concert halls.

Baroque Flute
After graduating from the conservatory on classical flute, my interests to play on authentic baroque instruments was awakened and I started learning to play the traverso (baroque flute). Together with 3 local baroque musicians we founded "Ensemble Joyeux" and continued to perform baroque music on authentic instruments and from handwritten parts in chamber music series spread throughout the southern part of the Netherlands.
